Excellent value--without quirky electronic BS.An excellent value for anyone who, like me, wanted to upgrade from an older style of detector to modern electronics. Having a display sure beats looking through the manual on my old Tesoro. One of the criteria I had was to get a standalone system. I shy away from the fancier detectors that you can plug into a computer for updates. Too bloated with features. This avoidance was based on years of struggling with unreliable, crash-prone devices. Not what you need when miles out in the desert heat. Just turn it on, select what is on the screen, and use it. No electronic BS.
