Customer reviewsimpressed by this tool for what it is.
I am pretty happy with this purchase. I do not have a attachment capable line trimmer, so Gas based versions were not a great option for me considering how much use it will likely get around my house. I primarily purchased this for some higher branches on trees I have needed to prune for some time that are within 2-4 in diameter. This item seemed very easy to assemble, which was basically 4 screws to attach a handle, and tool-less installation for the chain bar. I was a little skeptical of the tool-less bar adjustment, but it seems to do the trick and is super easy to use. After filling with bar oil and testing on some 7-10 high 3 ish branches I found that it cut very well, fairly fast, and to my surprise whisper quite even for electric. The bite on from this blade seems perfect for these small and medium branches, requiring little effort to drop. I would suggest that if you are a smaller person, this may be a tad heavy to lift and manage when extended all the way. Even so, at 5 9 and average build, and had little trouble. I would estimate the best Max height for someone my size to be 13 from the ground. As a test to see just how much this can handle, I used it to take down a branch from a tree I will be felling in the near future. I measured the branch at about 14.5 feet from the ground using a range finder. This required me to stand flat on the ground, with the pole extended all the way, and my arm stretched all the way, and only holding my second hand close to the base. This is probably NOT advised as the safe way to use it, since you loose a lot of control of the tool and are standing nearly directly under the branch you are cutting. It did however enable me to take down a branch that was about 6 across and 14.5 from the ground w o getting a ladder out. This took some effort as it was difficult at this length to hold the blade on the same cut path. Once again, a more realistic safe limit for someone my size is probably about 13 off the ground. Still, very impressed with how much this can handle at its max. Very good function for the money.
