Surprisingly good.I cannot say enough good things about this piece of equipment. First of all, I did not want to buy it. I am a semi-retired landscaper who continues to cut about 10 lawns weekly to keep busy, get cash, and stay in shape. Previously I was using a 32inch Scag commercial walk behind which was big enough to get the work done and was able to fit through narrow backyard gates. After many years of reliable service the Scag engine finally died. It would have cost more than a thousand dollars just for the engine, and I didn t see the sense of putting a brand new engine on a beat machine. So I looked for a reasonably priced replacement, and found next to nothing in the sub 3 grand category until I came upon this Toro.. To me it looked like an overgrown home owner deck with way too much plastic on it. But I was stuck, needed a replacement in the middle of the last cutting season and bit the bullet. I am so happy I did Despite its appearance it is absolutely perfect for the amount of cutting I do. At approximately 10 hours run time per week I put over 200 hours on it last year, and am back at it now. Not one problem. Starts on 1 or 2 pulls every time, runs with plenty of power and all of the plastic has worked just fine. I bag grass, mulch leaves, and do plenty of side discharge to reduce volume. It is by far the easiest mower I have ever walked behind. Turning is a little slow due to size, and backing up is a chore, but straight ahead is a one handed joy. Change the oil like it says on the initial break-in, keep the blades sharp and it is the perfect mower for a non-rider on a large property or for a guy who does lawns on the side.My only complaints are that the gas tank is small for the size of the engine. and there is no dedicated drain plug for oil changes. I am not a fan of tipping machines or suctioning used oil but... Sorry to go on for so long, but I rarely am so glad I was wrong about something on first glance.. If my machine seized tomorrow, I would order another without hesitation and keep the old one for parts. Very solid mower.
