Customer reviewsShield too small, no harness, and a huge duffle bag
Overall, it does what it says, has plenty of power, had a problem of it stopping and having to reset hitting heavy overgrown grass weeds, but I got used to that. There a few problems I have with the design, first, the shield, if you can call it that, does very little to prevent debris from flying all over. Pictures of my other trimmer shields for comparison . Basically it s just there to cut the string. I can not attach either of the other heads because of the gear and recessed area in the head. Basically if you are going to sell a powerhead with a pole saw attachment, extension and hedge trimmer attachment which would increase the weight, why would you NOT include a shoulder harness and I am not talking about a single strap. I ended up buying another brand Double Shoulder Strap for 15 which helped tremendously. Nothing was packed very well, the box was almost completely open from the weight and I inspected before the driver left. Batteries had bounced all over the place. Instead of a shoulder strap, they give a DUFFLE BAG, although apparently very well constructed, with nice stitching of the Makita name on both sides, I find it hardly useful. I can bet it cost more than the shoulder harness would have cost. I would really be interested in how many people actually use this accessory, verses something like a double shoulder harness. Or at least include a strap that would go end to end on the bag so I can use it to carry my clothes when I travel. I have a whole collection of Makita tools, but this was disappointing. I don t know who in the marketing dept. thought of this, but it was an epic fail to me.
